Granite Counter Top Care – Removing the Stains
As it is used almost everyday, granite countertop is being exposed to many things that could be damaging to its surface. To properly care for it, daily granite cleaning must be implemented. It will not only keep the surface tidy, it will also keep it protected.

But how is it done? The following are the steps that you should take according to the type of stain.

-
For grease stain, you can use liquid dish soap and water. Blot the stain with the said solution but only after you have scraped the residue.

For wine, ink and marker stains, you can use two different solutions to two different types of granite countertops. Those two are acetone and hydrogen peroxide. The first one, which can be substituted by thinner, is to be used on dark granite countertops while the latter is for lighter granite.
-
For other stubborn stains, use a mixture of flour and dish washing soap. Apply the solution on the stain, get it covered by a plastic and then let it stay there overnight.
-
For organic stains, such as coffee, you can use 12% hydrogen peroxide and ammonia and apply it on the stain.
